Basketball signup: The registration for the Redmond Area Park and Recreation District’s basketball leagues for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first and second grades is Tuesday. Beginning Kendo: For ages 12 and up. Beginning Japanese fencing, or Kendo, is designed to promote a strong mind and body in a safe environment. Former Ridgeview star takes part in shutout: Former Ridgeview goalkeeper Alex Nadermann played one shutout half for Northwest Nazarene in a 7-0 exhibition victory Aug. 30 against Blue Mountain Community College. Blue Mountain did not get a shot or even a corner kick during the match.
