Beginner swim lessons: For ages 12 and up: Teens and adults can show it’s never too late to learn to swim — build confidence, learn basic water adjustment skills, enhance stroke techniques and swim full laps at the class, which is held from 6:05-6:35 p.m. Monday-Friday July 15-26 at Cascade Swim Center. Beginning Kendo: For ages 12 and up. Beginning Japanese fencing, or Kendo, is taught by Ryan Atagi, a fifth degree black belt in the sport. Classes are from 6-8 p.m. Thursdays from July 11-Aug. 1 at the RAPRD Activity Center. The cost is $50, which includes a bamboo sword ($15 discount if you register for multiple sessions and already have a bamboo sword). Call 541-548-7275 or visit raprd.org for more information.

Little sports stars: For ages 3-5. Learn the basics in sports, with fun the No. 1 goal. The baseball session is 1-1:30 p.m. Thursdays from July 11-25 at the RAPRD Activity Center. The cost is $21. Call 541-548-7275 or visit raprd.org for more information.

RiverQuest: For third-fifth graders. The free class features guest speakers and exploring areas of the Deschutes River to see how it works and impacts lives. The third session, on Cline Falls, is from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, with students being dropped off and picked up at RAPRD Activity Center. Preregistration is required.
