A former Redmond resident recently graduated Navy Recruit Training Command at Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois.

Sailor Daniel Brodie Kahmann in September completed an eight-week program focusing on discipline, schooling physical fitness and being instilled with standards of honor, courage and commitment, according to an email. He then moved on and graduated from technical school at the Naval Air Technical Training Center in Pensacola, Florida, with the rate of aviation electronics mate.

Kahmann is now on duty in San Diego, where he also attends more technical school.

Kahmann is a 2012 Hermiston High School graduate who went on to live for three years in Redmond, where he worked at Home Depot.
