Two Redmond natives recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas, according to news releases.
Air Force Airmen Jacob A. Smolen and Devin I. Cupp completed the intensive eight-week program that includes military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles, officials said.
Both airmen are 2018 Redmond High graduates. Smolen is the son of Daryle M. and Stephanie S. Smolen of Redmond, while Cupp is the son of Leah M. and Justice M. Cupp of Redmond.
Completing basic traning earns airmen four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
