Ryan Konop, Redmond swimming — The freshman finished fifth at the Class 5A State Championships with a time of 50.18 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle.

Game of the week

Girls basketball; Ridgeview 55, Redmond 48 — The Ravens’ 55-48 Feb. 12 home victory evened the season series with the first place Panthers, but, apparently, won’t count in the Intermountain Conference standings. Because of numerous weather-related cancellations, only the first round of league games will count, with teams entering a tournament this week to decided playoff position.

What to watch for

State wrestling — Redmond and Ridgeview both have district champions looking for state titles at Friday and Saturday’s Class 5A state meet in Portland.

With 2 points, Redmond finished 18th of 18 teams to score at the Class 5A State Championships in Beaverton. Springfield was first with 53 points. Freshman Ryan Konop was the Panthers’ lone finalist, finishing fifth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.18 seconds.
