A 2015 Redmond High graduate recently reached a milestone in the Air Force.

Blake A. Hawley graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland after an intensive eight-week program, according to a news release. The program for the airman included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Completing basic training also gives airmen four hours toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

According to Spokesman archives, Hawley is a former track athlete at Redmond.
