Whether you’re going for a Cubbies game, an Italian beef sandwich or to reach someplace else, you’ll soon be able to fly to Chicago nonstop from Redmond.
Skywest Inc. will offer daily United Express service direct to Chicago O’Hare International Airport from Redmond Municipal Airport starting June 6, according to an airport news release. The seasonal red-eye eastbound flights will leave Redmond at 11:45 p.m., arriving at 5:15 a.m. Flights will leave O’Hare at 7:30 p.m., arriving in Redmond at 9:45 p.m.
The flights will use 76-passenger Embraer 175 series planes. The planes are configured with 12 recliner seats in first class, 16 premium economy seats and 48 seats in coach.
The Central Oregon Air Service team presented United Airlines with the opportunity in December, the release said.
“This will be the longest eastbound direct flight offered at RDM,” Redmond Mayor George Endicott said in the statement. “United Airlines has more than 500 outbound flights departing daily from Chicago, significantly increasing travel options for Central Oregon business and leisure passengers connecting through O’ Hare Airport.”
