Redmond’s high school football teams had differing results in their season openers Aug. 31. Ridgeview opened the season with a 47-25 home loss against Crook County, while Redmond equaled its 2017 victory total with a 44-21 home win against St. Helens.
The Panthers totaled 377 rushing yards, with 178 of those coming from junior Colt Folston on 23 carries. Folston added three touchdowns. Junior Brendan Powell ran 15 times for 96 yards and a touchdown, while senior Clayton Elrod had 13 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown.
In his first came at quarterback, junior Cooper Browning completed 7-of-11 passes for 153 yards, while running four times for 16 yards, including a touchdown. Junior Henry Chambers caught five passes for 122 yards and added two runs for 11 yards. Sophomore Blaine Aamodt had a 28-yard catch and senior Tony Spinelli added a three-yard catch.
The Ravens play host to South Eugene Sept. 7, while Eagle Point visits Redmond.
