A man robbed the gas station at the Redmond Fred Meyer store at 855 SW 6th Street on Friday, according to a Redmond Police news release.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register at 1:30 p.m. and ran from the scene, police said. No one was injured.

Redmond Police arrived quickly and were joined by a Bend officer and his K-9 partner, but did not find the suspect, police said. The suspect was shown on video surveillance running through the Lowe’s Home Improvement parking lot toward the Cook Crossing development.

The suspect is described as around 5-feet-8-inches tall, in his 40s to early 50s with brown hair and a partly gray beard, police said. He was wearing blue jeans and a black or gray jacket.

Police said it is too soon to determine if the Fred Meyer robbery is related to a Jan. 20 robbery at Moe’s Food Mart on Fifth Street. Anyone with information on either robbery is asked to call 541-693-6911.
