January 27, 1934 – February 21, 2018

Bend resident Don R. Lindsay passed away the morning of February 21, 2018, after a brief illness. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 1–3 p.m. at Touchmark, in Bend.

Don was born January 27, 1934, to Lester and Cora Lindsay in Lake Oswego. He was an only child. Don graduated from Lewis and Clark College with a degree in economics.

After college, Don served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Upon leaving the military, he returned to Oregon to work for IBM in sales and management positions. During this period, he was married to Bonnie Lindstorm and had two children, Deborah and Mark.

Subsequent to his marriage to Bonnie, he married Marie DeHarpport and together, they started a successful computer data processing business in Portland. Marie’s young daughter, Anne, added another daughter to the family and they had a son, Steven. Later in life, Don married Marlene (Kridler) Adkins, who was ultimately the love of his life. They built a home near Bend Golf and Country Club and also maintained another home in San Diego, California.

Don was an avid golfer and fierce competitor, as all who knew him can attest. He was also a loving husband and devoted father who will be dearly missed by the family he adored.

He is predeceased by his parents; and by his beloved wife, Marlene Lindsay. He is survived by his children, Deborah, Mark (Deborah), Anne (Jeff), and Steven (Sandra); his stepsons, Mark (Tracey) and Dale; his son-in- law Lee; as well as ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
