Redmond man wins $100,000 in lottery: A Redmond man recently claimed a $100,000 prize in an Oregon Lottery Scratch-it game. Jeremy Gilbertson won the prize Feb. 1 on a $10 Extreme Cash game ticket bought at a Redmond Chevron station. “I scratched the ticket, I looked at this, and I thought, ‘This just doesn’t happen to me.’” Gilbertson said in a lottery news release. “All I could say was ahhhhh. I won $100,000 and I couldn’t believe it.” Gilbertson usually buys $2 or $3 tickets but uses winnings to buy higher-value tickets, the release said. He plans to use the winnings to take his wife on a trip to celebrate their second wedding anniversary. He was the second area man to win $100,000 on a $10 ticket in as many days, with Carl Ostercamp, of Bend, claiming the prize on a ticket bought Jan. 31 at a US Market in Bend. The lottery says more than $4.2 million in lottery prizes were won last year in Redmond and Bend, and $28.9 million in lottery proceeds went to economic development, parks, education and watershed enhancement in Deschutes County in the 2015-17 biennium.

Eagle Crest Resort sold: The sale of the 100-room Eagle Crest Resort hotel to Tampa-based KDG Capital was recently completed, according to a news release from Holliday Fenoglio Fowler L.P., which marketed the property west of Redmond. The 1,700-acre property was sold free and clear of existing debt and without a management contract to KDG by a partnership between Northview Hotel Group and Oaktree Capital Management L.P., the release said. The Bulletin previously reported that the resort was being sold for $12 million.
