Feb. 14, 1943 — Vandals have caused considerable damage in the buildings at Redmond municipal swimming pool, it was learned Saturday.
Clyde Martin, who was guard at the pool last summer, discovered the destruction when he went to the pool to make a checkup.
Lock on the door to the ticket room had been broken, all the keys inside the building were missing, equipment in the checkroom was scattered and damaged, and the towels had been thrown about at random.
Luckily, keys to the main entrance and to the supply room were in the hands of Maurice, F. Roberts, councilman in charge of the pool. However, all locks for which keys were stolen will have to be changed.

Smokejumper overhead personnel started action early when they trained 15 U.S. Air Force para-rescue reservists in February. A total of 75 jumps were made by the reservists during this period.

Feb 17, 1993 — “My shoes still go on the same feet, and I hope things stay pretty much the same around here,” Oregon’s newest millionaire said Monday evening.
“Except I’ll probably get an answering machine, and Charlie can get the brakes fixed on his pickup.”
Carol Lands, her husband, Charles, and several of their children had just returned from Oregon Lottery headquarters in Salem where they received a check for $1.8 million, the Landses’ share of the $5 million Megabucks prize they won Saturday by matching all six numbers.
