Ellouise Arlene (Burdick) Rife was born October 26, 1924, in Tillamook, Oregon, and passed away January 1, 2018, in Prineville, Oregon. Her parents were Clara (Biggs) and Delbert Burdick, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by three brothers, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband of seventy-five years, Norman Rife; her daughter, Norma (Rife) Seely and son-in-law, Lloyd, of Manzanita, Oregon; her granddaughters, Elia Seely, and her partner Malcolm Oliver, of Nederland, Colorado, Nichelle Seely and her husband, Aaron Hall of Fort Collins, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
Ellouise graduated from Garibaldi High School and went on to become a telephone operator, but it was her dream to be a writer and that dream came true with three published novels.
Norman and Ellouise loved to ballroom dance, and did so into their early nineties. Their skill translated to a thirty day gig as dance instructors on a cruise through the Panama Canal and into the Caribbean. Arlenes’s style wasn’t confined to the dance floor. She once appeared in a travel brochure for Tillamook, County and later modeled for a Bend, Oregon clothing designer.
We’re sure this woman, beautiful both inside and out, is now dancing in Heaven. No services were held at her request.
