Ruth Marie (Gardner) Schaub

February 26, 1934 – January 30, 2018

On January 30, 2018, Ruth went home to be with the Lord after what she called an accomplished and beautiful life. Born February 26, 1934, in Modesto, California, she grew up running in the orchards and enjoying the country life. Ruth worked for Northrop Aircraft after completing business college.

At one fateful USO dance, she met the love of her life, Gary Schaub. They were married June 21, 1959, and blessed with four children: Darian, Brian, Linda, and Neal. After relocating to Bend, Oregon, in 1970, again to the country life, Ruth became very active with her church, family, farm, Cub Scouts, room mother numerous times, 4-H, CCD teacher, historian, and Sunshine Girl for the Deschutes Dusters Good Sam Camping Club.

Ruth had great love for her family, oil painting, writing children’s stories, and especially her weekly Bible study group.

Her husband, Gary, and son, Brian, preceded Ruth in death. She will be forever remembered by her children, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, many more family and friends as such a loving, giving person, who has touched us all in so many ways.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held in the downtown historic St. Francis Church on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 10 AM . A Rosary will be held prior to the Mass at 9:30 AM at the church.
