Stanley “Stan” Green passed peacefully on December 21, 2017, at Hospice House in Bend, with his loving wife of 62 years, Joan, at his side. Stan grew up in Portland and graduated from Washington High School, and later, from Oregon State College (OSU), where he was on the golf team and a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. At OSU, Stan met his future wife, Joan, and they were married after graduation, in 1955, and embarked on a cross country trip for pilot training and four years flying in the USAF. He was a long time member of the Deschutes Club, and over the years, was a member at Twin Lakes, Meridian Valley and Port Ludlow Golf and Country Clubs in Washington, and Sun River and Bend golf and country clubs in Oregon. One of Stan’s fondest golf experiences was playing with Arnold Palmer in the final round of a national United Air Lines tournament in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Green and Florence Mercer; and his brother, Donald Green. Stan is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter, Leslie Green (Renton, Washington); son, Craig Green (Susan) (Tumwater, Washington); granddaughter, Erin Bonvouloir (Nick) (Tumwater, Washington); grandson, Marshall Green (Kenmore, Washington) and sister, Carla Green (Gaston, Oregon).
