Nature Days field trip: For ages 10 and up. The summer Nature Days curriculum takes a field trip to Sahalie and Koosah falls in the Cascades from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 25, meeting at RAPRD Activity Center. Attendees are asked to bring a sack lunch and water bottle and dress for the weather. The cost is $50. Call 541-548-7275 or visit raprd.org for more information.
Youth football: For grades 1-6. The deadline is Sunday to register for Redmond Youth Football. Officials say students learn the foundation for coming up through the high school system. Parent volunteers are also being sought. The season, which starts in mid-August, is six or seven weeks long, depending on the number of teams. Bring your own boat kayaking: Kayak enthusiasts can practice at the Cascade Swim Center pool from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 20. The cost is $5.
Adaptive swim lessons: For all ages. Instruction staff are trained in adaptive aquatics and instruction techniques to assist swimmers with developmental disabilities. Classes are 11:30-noon Mondays through Fridays, Aug. 14-25, at Cascade Swim Center. The cost is $36. Summer Activity Club: For kindergarten through fifth graders. The club features nature hikes, team challenges, relay races, homemade ice cream, face painting and more. Children are asked to bring a backpack, water bottle and good walking shoes. The camp is 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 28-Sept. 1 at Sam Johnson Park. The cost is $30 per day.
