The Ridgeview cheerleading team recently earned a spot at the National Cheerleaders Association nationals through its performance at one of the organization’s cheer camps at Oregon State University in Corvallis.

Senior captain Gabrielle Crouch and fellow senior Gaby Smith were named to the all-American team by jumping and tumbling and performing a cheer by themselves, according to a news release. Other all-American nominees included Haley Teucher (leadership), Kaytlyn Barber (stunt), Brytney Trost (stunt), Grace Potter (stunt), Maddie Abramson (leadership/dance), Grace Larkin (jumps) and Lindsay Sisson (leadership).

Sisson also won the Gatorade Award, which is chosen by staff to go to only two of the more than 400 participants.

“Along with their many accomplishments, the entire team left the camp with improved skills and an even stronger bond than before we left for Corvallis,” cheerleading coach Shantell Benedictus said. “I couldn’t be prouder of our team for showcasing what it means to be a Raven cheerleader.”
