Six people were arrested in connection with a June 22 burglary involving Redmond Little League money at the Bowlby Field sports complex, Redmond Police said.
The lock on the concession stand at the park in Dry Canyon was broken off, allowing suspects to enter the building and steal a cash register and safe containing more than $1,000, as well as snacks, police said. The damage and stolen money directly impacts Redmond Little League baseball and softball teams.
After two weeks of investigation, police arrested Redmond residents Quinton Monk, 21, Tabor Lampson, 19, John Breen III, 22, and three suspects whose names weren’t released because they are minors. They each face charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree theft and second-degree criminal mischief.
Police said they recovered a small amount of money taken in the burglary when the suspects were arrested.
Four of the suspects were previously kicked out of Redmond parks for criminal behavior and failing to follow park rules, police said. Police are increasing their presence in the parks this summer. That includes cadet bicycle patrols. Police said cadets were instrumental in locating one of the suspects in the burglary.
