Two Ridgeview first-team selections highlighted a strong showing for local players on the Class 5A All-State softball and baseball teams.
Brook Herrington made the first-team infield in softball, while fellow senior Alex “Fern” Spencer was a first-team outfield selection. Herrington wraps up her Ridgeview playing days with back-to-back first-team, all-state selections to go with her two Intermountain Conference player of the year awards.
Making the second team for Ridgeview were senior outfielder Hailey Williamson, senior catcher Kate Lieberenz and sophomore Natalie Hill, who was named as utility player.
Redmond senior outfielder Kaila Fierstos also made third-team.
Senior infielder Katie Salka was an honorable mention choice for Ridgeview.
Not to be outdone, Redmond senior pitcher Tyler Elliott-Johnson was a first-team, all-state selection in baseball.
