Climbing route reopens: Redmond’s climbing route along the arches of the Maple Avenue Bridge was scheduled to reopen July 1 after being closed since early 2016. The route was closed because of liability concerns, but was able to reopen because of the passage of the Recreation Immunity Bill by the state legislature, according to a city news release. The route opened in 2015 along the 70-foot-tall, 780-foot long concrete bridge in Dry Canyon. The city is working with local climber Ian Caldwell on a second climbing route on the bridge.
