Male athlete of the week

Nicky Tsai, Redmond swimming — The senior capped his high school career with a fourth place finish in the 100-yard backstroke and fifth place in the 100 butterfly Feb. 18, becoming the first Panther to reach the podium twice at the state meet twice since 2002.

Female athlete of the week

Macy McFetridge, Ridgeview basketball — McFetridge scored eight points in leading the Ravens to a 41-29 nonconference victory against Hood River Valley on Feb. 18.

Game of the week

Girls basketball, Mountain View 64, Redmond 62 — The Panthers narrowly lost on a last-second shot after coming back from a six-point overtime deficit Feb. 14. A victory would have put Redmond in better position for clinching third place in the Intermountain Conference.

What to watch for

Spring sports practice — The long winter is nearly done. Redmond High and Ridgeview golf, track, tennis, baseball and softball teams get ready for their 2017 seasons starting Monday.
