What looked like a busy week of games was whited out by snow for some Redmond High teams.
All after-school activities were canceled Dec. 8, when Redmond received more than three inches of snow.
That canceled Redmond’s boys and girls basketball games that were scheduled against Crook County. On Friday, the girls home game against Hood River Valley was called off, as was the boys first game in the Madras tournament, where they had been scheduled to face La Grande.
Redmond was able to add a home boys basketball game this Thursday against Mazama, though more snow was predicted Wednesday.
The varsity game is scheduled for 6:15 p.m., with junior varsity at 4:30 p.m. Athletic director Nathan Stanley said Tuesday that the Panthers have yet to reschedule the Hood River Valley and Crook County games.
The Panthers wrestling team was set to compete Friday and Saturday in the Coast Classic Invitational in North Bend, where they finished fourth in 2015, but pulled out of the event.
By Saturday, things began to return to normal. The Redmond swim teams took part in the Raven Classic at Cascade Swim Center, while the boys basketball team faced Madras, falling 60-48.
Ridgeview was able to avoid the same level of disruption. The Ravens boys and girls basketball teams both made it to Central Point, where they played in the Crater Invitational.
