Monster Truck tour: Tickets are now on sale for the March 18-19 Monster Truck Destruction Tour event at the Bank of the Cascades Center at the Deschutes County fairgrounds. The car-crushing giants will race and take part in wheelie contests and freestyle action. Among the trucks scheduled to compete are Rock Star, California Kid, Identity Theft and Skeletor. Ticket prices start at $19 for adults and $10 for children 3 to 12. They may be purchased in Redmond at Approved Auto of Central Oregon, 112 SW Sixth St., or at MTDtour.com.

Basketball registration: Monday is the deadline to register for Redmond Area Park and Recreation District basketball for levels including pre-K, kinder, first and second grades, and third through sixth grades. Teams practice one to two times each week, depending on volunteer coaches’ schedules, and games are played Saturdays at Redmond schools. The season runs Jan. 14 to Feb. 18.
