Male athlete of the week
Albert Hesse, Ridgeview cross-country — Hesse set a personal-best time of 15 minutes, 56.1 seconds in winning the Intermountain Conference Preview on Oct. 8 at Juniper Golf Course.
Female athlete of the week
Mackenzie Stadler, Ridgeview soccer — Stadler scored three goals in the Ravens’ 6-0 victory against Redmond on Oct. 4.
Game of the week
Volleyball, Central Christian 3, Paisley 0 — The Tigers won their first Mountain Valley League match with the 25-10, 28-26, 25-22 victory.
What to watch for
Football, Summit at Redmond — The defending state champion Storm make their only Redmond appearance Friday. The Panthers will look to close in on one of the league’s four playoff spots against the team that knocked them out of the 2015 playoffs.

Ridgeview finished fourth and Redmond was fifth in the five-team Intermountain Conference Preview at Juniper Golf Course. Ridgeview’s Albert Hesse finished first individually of the 121 runners with a time of 15:56.1 in the 5,000-meter race. Redmond’s Connor Agnew, in 64th place, had the Panthers’ best time at 20:20.2.
Girls cross-country
Ridgeview finished fourth and Redmond was fifth in the five-team IMC Preview at Juniper Golf Course. Averi Hartford led the Panthers in 11th place with a personal-best time of 20:54.5. Whitney Gieschen topped the Panthers in 33rd place at 23:36.6
