Redmond High’s football team has a winning league record after a come-from-behind 49-21 victory Sept. 30 against Pendleton, while Ridgeview fell 51-7 to No. 5 Bend.
Redmond
The Panthers (2-1 in Class 5A Special District 1, 2-3 overall), overcame a 21-14 second-quarter deficit to score 35 consecutive points in the victory against the Buckaroos. Quarterback Bunker Parrish rushed for 139 yards, Colton Mortenson ran for 81 yards and Cooger Smith had 66 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
Tyson Hester had two touchdowns in the game, while Jack Taylor and Kamau Troutman also ran for touchdowns.
Redmond will look to extend its winning streak to three games Friday at Hood River Valley, which fell to 0-5 overall with its 36-6 Sept. 30 loss against Hermiston.
Ridgeview
The Ravens (1-2, 1-4) scored their only touchdown against the Lava Bears on Blaine Gibbs’ 55-yard catch from Remy Barber in the second quarter of the game. That cut the lead to 28-7 for Bend, which scored touchdowns on its first four possessions.
The Ravens will look to get back to .500 in league play Friday against Hermiston. The only loss for the Bulldogs (2-1, 2-3) against an Oregon team came Sept. 23, a 27-14 loss to defending 5A state champion Summit.
