Both Ridgeview and Redmond High will try to overcome 0-2 starts when conference play begins Friday.
The Ravens will play host to Hood River Valley at 7 p.m. in both teams’ Special District 1 opener. Each team will be looking for its first victory, with Ridgeview falling 44-0 Sept. 9 at Eagle Point, while Hood River lost 65-13 against Reynolds.
Eagle Point (2-0) outgained the Ravens, 515 yards to 174, with 26 of its points coming in the second half, according to the (Medford) Mail Tribune.
Redmond, which plays at Bend at 7 p.m. Friday, lost a closer match-up, 41-35 against unbeaten Silverton. The Panthers rallied from a 21-0 deficit with second-quarter running touchdowns from Cooper Smith, Bunker Parrish and Dylan Taylor. Parrish added a second running touchdown, along with a nine-yard touchdown pass to Tyson Hester in the second half.
The comeback came up short on a failed fourth-down conversion late in the fourth quarter.
Redmond, which had 400 yards of offense in the game, lost its two nonleague games by a combined eight points. They hope to rebound against 2-0 Bend, which defeated Corvallis 50-41 Sept. 9.
