Both high school football teams in Redmond will look for their first victories of 2016 away from home Friday after coming up just short in season openers.
Ridgeview (0-1) will play at Eagle Point while Redmond High (0-1) plays at Silverton. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Ravens came back from a 14-point deficit before falling 42-36 Sept. 2 against Thurston.
Remy Barber had two fourth-quarter touchdowns for Ridgeview, a four-yard run and a 48-yard catch from quarterback Brent Yeakey. Barber finished with four catches for 108 yards, along with 38 rushing yards.
Greg Greiner also had two touchdowns, one and four-yard runs. Yeakey added a five-yard running touchdown in the second quarter.
Yeakey completed 7 of 10 passes for 142 yards, also running for 53 yards.
Redmond fell 24-22 against Portland Jefferson. The Panthers had a chance to win the game, but Alex Hughes narrowly missed on a late 35-yard field goal attempt.
Quarterback Bunker Parrish led Redmond in rushing with 66 yards on 19 carries, including a three-yard second quarter touchdown run. He also completed 4 of 13 passes for 53 yards.
Cooger Smith ran for 63 yards on 18 carries, including a 15-yard second quarter touchdown run.
Redmond also picked up a touchdown when Zach Redelings recovered the ball in the end zone in the third quarter. The Panthers got two more points on a first-quarter safety when the Democrats snapped the ball out of the end zone.
Redmond faces a challenge at Silverton, which defeated Sandy 20-13 in its Sept. 2 opener.
Ridgeview’s Friday opponent, Eagle Point, also got off to a strong start, defeating Glencoe 53-12.
