Remy Barber, Ridgeview baseball — Barber’s three-run sixth-inning triple helped the Ravens to a 10-7 victory against Mountain View on May 6.

Female athlete of the week

Rachel Collins, Ridgeview softball — Collins struck out 12 and allowed two hits, shutting out Mountain View 1-0 on May 6. The away victory was one of three in consecutive days against different teams. It avenged the Ravens’ only Intermountain Conference defeat of the season and helped them clinch the league title. Collins also struck out 12 in five scoreless innings of a 13-1, May 5 victory against Bend.

Game of the week

Redmond softball 6, Summit 5 — Redmond broke a five-game losing streak by coming from a three-run seventh-inning deficit to defeat Summit on May 3. Leah Grim had three hits and two RBIs in the game.

What to watch for

Track — Redmond and Ridgeview have state championship hopefuls competing at the IMC district meet for a ticket to Eugene, which the Ravens are playing host to Wednesday and Thursday.

Ridgeview shot 344-324—668 to finish sixth and Redmond shot 345-346—691 to finish seventh in the 14-team Special District 2 championships at Eagle Crest Ridge Course, where the top five teams qualify for state. Ridgeview’s Isaac Buerger, who shot 79-69—148 to finish tied for fourth, was the only individual state qualifier.

Girls golf

May 3

Ridgeview finished sixth in the six-team Summit High School Girls Invitational at Broken Top Golf Club with a score of 440, 139 shots behind victorious Summit. Tianna Brown was the Ravens low scorer, tying for 10th place with 85, 13 shots off the lead.
