Walk-a-thon: The Central Oregon 5K walk, benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, is scheduled for June 4 at Sam Johnson Park in Redmond. Walkers are encouraged to ask family, friends and co-workers to sponsor them.

Registration starts at 9 a.m., with the walk at 10 a.m. Walkers can also register at www.greatstridescentraloregon.com

Tiki Party: Cascade Swim Center will celebrate its summer opening with a Tiki Party from 1-3:30 p.m. on June 18. The indoor pool, diving boards, outdoor wading pool and spray park will be open, and games and other festivities will be available on the back lawn. Pizza will be sold, with proceeds going to the swim lessons scholarship fund. Regular drop-in fees apply.
