Male athlete of the week
Will Branson, Redmond baseball — Branson’s double in the top of the seventh inning drove in the go-ahead run in the Panthers’ 5-4 victory at Ridgeview on April 22.
Female athlete of the week
Rachel Collins, Ridgeview softball — Collins struck out 16, while allowing three hits and no walks in a 7-0 shutout of Redmond on April 22.
Game of the week
Redmond softball 11, Bend 10 — Redmond scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning of the April 19 game, cutting into a 10-5 Lava Bears lead. Then, Berkley Puckett’s walk-off, two-run seventh inning double with two outs gave the Panthers an 11-10 victory.
What to watch for
Ridgeview vs. Summit baseball — Ridgeview has two games this week against the only team ahead of it in the Intermountain Conference standings (as of Tuesday). The Ravens play host to the Storm at 4:30 p.m. today and are at Summit at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Ridgeview’s score of 349 placed ninth in the 15-team Tetherow High Desert Challenge in Bend. Summit (295) won the tournament. Ridgeview’s low score was Isaac Buerger (83), 12 shots out of first place.
April 20
Ridgeview finished third with a score of 167 and Redmond was sixth (181) at the seven-team Lava Bear Invitational at Crosswater Club in Sunriver. Summit (153) won the nine-hole event. Ridgeview’s Isaac Buerger (34) was individual medalist in the rain-shortened event, while Hayden Perry (43) was Redmond’s low scorer.
Girls golf
April 18
Redmond (416) finished sixth in the eight-team Bend Invitational at Bend Golf and Country Club. Summit (311) won the event. Emalee Kandle (96) was the Panthers’ low scorer, while Ridgeview’s Tianna Brown (87) competed in the event, tying for 10th, 15 shots off the lead.
April 22
Ridgeview finished third with a score of 415, while Redmond (442) was fifth in the six-team Crook County Invitational at Prineville Country Club. Summit (309) won the tournament. Ridgeview’s Tianna Brown shot 79 to finish third individually, eight shots off the lead. Emily Joyce (107) was Redmond’s low scorer.
