Ridgeview and Redmond High track teams both had performances to be excited about at the Sandy Invitational on April 9.

Ridgeview’s girls team finished second at the nine-team event, with 118 points, 14.5 behind victorious Barlow. The Redmond girls tied for fourth with 89 points.

Redmond finished fourth on the boys side with 92 points, while Ridgeview was fifth with 72 points. Hood River Valley won the event with 168 points.

Gabrielle Crouch in the 200-meter dash, Mikenna Marchment in javelin and Hosanna Wilder in high jump had first-place finishes for the Ridgeview girls, while Sarah DeChristopher, in the 800 meters, finished first for Redmond.

The Redmond boys victories came from Jacoby McNamara in the 100 and 200 and Colton Mortenson in the 400. The pair also made up half of Redmond’s winning 4×400 relay team, along with Cody Moss and Jordan Soto. Ridgeview’s Albert Hesse won the 1,500- and 3,000-meter runs.

Ridgeview plays host to Bend in a dual meet Wednesday, the same day Summit is at Redmond.

Both take part in meets Friday. Redmond is at the Viking Relays at North Salem, while Ridgeview goes to the Apple Blossom Invitational at Hood River Valley.
