Male athlete of the week
Garret Albrecht, Ridgeview basketball — Albrecht scored 29 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in the Ravens’ 81-66 victory over Redmond on Feb. 23. The senior then wrapped up his high school basketball career with 38 points and 23 rebounds Feb. 26 in an 81-52 victory against Hood River Valley. He will move on next season to play at Oregon Tech.
Female athlete of the week
Macy McFetridge, Ridgeview basketball — McFetridge scored 11 points Feb. 23 in a 50-40 victory over Redmond. The win gave Ridgeview a 7-5 conference record and set up a Feb. 29 play-in game at Milwaukie. She added nine points in Monday’s play-in loss, which ended the Ravens’ season.
Game of the week
Boys basketball, Ridgeview 81, Redmond 66 — George Mendazona joined Albrecht in a big game, scoring 26 and adding eight assists. Cody Moss led Redmond with 11 points.
What to watch for
No Redmond or Ridgeview games are scheduled this week, but baseball, softball, track, tennis and golf teams are practicing to begin their seasons starting March 14.
