Male athlete of the week Cody Moss, Redmond boys basketball — The 6-foot-1 senior scored 19 points in a 72-53 loss to Bend on Feb. 9.

Female athlete of the week Ava Kitchin, Redmond girls basketball — The freshman post scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 68-37 loss to Summit on Feb. 12. She also scored seven points in a 65-28 loss to Bend on Feb. 9.

Game of the week

Boys basketball, Bend 71, Ridgeview 69 — The Ravens came up just short of their second Intermountain Conference victory of the season in the Feb. 12 clash. Ridgeview outscored Bend 42-36 in the second half. Garret Albrecht scored 29 points and George Mendazona scored 27.

What to watch for Wrestling — The Class 5A Special District 4 meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Bend’s Mountain View High School and continue into Saturday. Redmond is among the favorites after defeating Ridgeview 74-0 in its final dual match of the season Feb. 11. Ridgeview forfeited eight times in the match.
