George Mendazona, Ridgeview boys basketball — Mendazona scored 22 points, 19 of them in the first half, in Jan. 15’s 75-58 basketball loss against Mountain View. He scored 12 in Jan. 12’s 62-48 loss against Summit.

Female athlete of the week

Sophia Hamilton, Redmond girls basketball — Hamilton scored 25 points, including five 3-pointers, and grabbed 12 rebounds in a Jan. 15 loss to The Dalles.

Game of the week

Boys basketball, Redmond vs. The Dalles — The Panthers fell 69-65 Jan. 15 to The Dalles. Redmond was led by Derek Brown and Ethan Soto, who each had 14 points.

What to watch for
